From the Artist
Hello and Welcome! I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to stop by. Allow me to introduce myself - I'm Mary Carver Deal, the artist behind MC Deal Art. Art has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I'm excited to share my passion and creations with you.
At the remarkably young age of 16, I took my first steps into the world of selling art. I saw it as an opportunity to not only share my creations with others but also to gain valuable feedback and recognition for my work. It was an exhilarating experience, and it further fueled my determination to pursue a career in the art world. Throughout my high school years, I hosted multiple charity-based art shows, aiming to raise both funds and awareness for mental health, kick starting my career while raising over $20,000 for a cause very personal to me.
I attended Appalachian State University, where I had the privilege of pursuing a double major in Fine and Applied Arts and Psychology. During my college years, I found yet another opportunity to combine philanthropy and art. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, I embarked on a solo volunteer project that involved painting a 105-yard wall for a retirement community. Little did I know that this endeavor would not only bring color to a once dull space but also ignite a wave of charitable support. Raising over $3,000 and spending over 300 hours on the project, it was, comically, my first ever mural.
This unique combination of Psychology and Art allowed me to explore my true passions in a comprehensive and enriching manner. While I continue to pursue a career in Art, I hope to eventually obtain a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy.
